AMAZING GRACE: Weather during previous evening was 7 kts out of the North; "Great 
night for sailig". Weather at 0815 today: 12-14 kts from the North, sky clear.

DEFIANCE: Quite the interesting approach and finish at the north end of Cedros.
A gaggle of boats from both spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes converged in the 
dark on the finish line of Race 1. What wind we did have had wild fluctuations 
and there was current coming north along the face of Cedros Island that was 
keeping us from crossing the line. Defiance took on full hour to go the last mile 
even though the knot meter usually was showing a speed through the water of up to 
3 knots.
